Have you ever been tempted to upload a file using an easy solution? A click away, copy the link in my email, and I am good to go? Or a heavy file that won’t fit on OneDrive or Google due to my recipient requirements. Just a link, right? Well, this is okay for personal use, but most companies will tell you that you’ll be locked into their corporate solutions.

What this means is that if you’re using a non-compliant solution, you might be at risk for your position or for your company, as there is a reason these rules are in place. Typically, we observe a significant number of employees utilising personally designed solutions with stringent terms of use, such as requiring any uploaded content to become the company’s property.
The good news is that this is an incredible way to share your brand as well. Every email is another possibility for pushing your brand visuals and messaging.
This is why we launched Kumo. Kumo is an on-premises software that you can install on your server, providing the same experience as the personal solution you use at home, but with the added benefit of being reviewed and compliant by your company. You can tweak, decide and set how the solution works, making it even part of your outlook or Gmail routine if this is something you want truly integrated.
The way it works is simple: you can choose a standard connection, which means a server will be in the middle, or you can use a web torrent technology, which means you will have a direct connection between your browsers. This last version will ensure end-to-end encryption, preventing exposure of sensitive information on a server.
Kumo offers a free version for testing, a Kumo+ option for handling larger files, and an enterprise edition.
